Overview

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Social Media, the Marketing Coordinator creates and manages production of print and digital materials and is responsible for e-mail marketing, Web site management and the social media calendar. This position assists with photography, video production, media relations, events, writing, editing and proofreading. The Coordinator provides quality control for the department, ensuring all projects are brand compliant and meet the needs of the organization. The position works directly with service lines to guarantee marketing materials and plans are executed on time and on budget.

 

Responsibilities

    • Enthusiastically represents The Community YMCA by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job through the four character values of: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
    • Responsible for creating/designing marketing assets such as program guides, fliers, banners, posters, invitations, print and digital ads, and more that drive membership, retention and support.
    • Oversees, creates and manages e-mail campaigns and communications including member and donor newsletters, and measures results.
    • Develops social media content, including video, photography and blogs, and works with content leaders on content generation and management. Manages social media calendar and reports on effectiveness of social media efforts. Provides training and support to service line content leaders. 
    • Monitors and updates the Web site and tracks results in Google Analytics. 
    • Serves as Brand Champion, and ensures brand compliance for all marketing assets. 
    • Provides quality control to the Development & Communications department for all projects completed. 
    • Supports special events and philanthropic activities to ensure they advance key communications, marketing and fundraising goals. 
    • Fosters positive public relations and media relations; administers news releases; assists with media events; monitors and track results. 
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred
  • Minimum three years of experience in marketing including graphic design
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Constant Contact or other e-mail software
  • Wordpress or other Web content management system knowledge
  • Knowledge of best practices in communications, marketing and social media
  • Knowledge of the Y Brand or other experience managing a brand preferred
  • Excellent graphic design, writing, communications skills
  • High skill level in organizing, planning and implementation of administrative procedures and adept at maintaining systems for easy access to information and data
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
